This song is actually based on my own personal journey through falling in love. Twice, early on in our relationship, I accidentally almost said the dreaded phrase, "I love you." The first time, we were on the phone and just as I was about to hang up, I said "I lo…I'll talk to you later!" And hung up abrupty, confused as to why I almost said it, but dismissing it's meaning. Then, just a few weeks later, we rode the subway together but got off at different stops. I got off before him and as I walked off the train I shouted, "Bye! I loo…I'll see you later!" I then freaked out and called a close friend asking if these two failed attempts meant that I did in fact actually LOVE him. After much thought, I decided that I did indeed love him and that I needed to let him know, even if I beat him to the punch. So one day I was about to run out to meet a friend for work and as I was leaving I said, "Hey, so there's something I need to tell you, but I don't want you to feel like you have to say it back to me, so I …uh…yeah, so I love you. Okay, bye!" And I ran out the door before he could even have a response. But, naturally, I left my driving directions and had to shamefully knock on the door and face him again. He opened the door immediately, smiled, handed me the directions and said very grounded, "By the way, I love you too." To which I responded, "You do??" Then we kissed, I ran out the door late for work, and on 09/02/2012 we will be married!

I GOTTA SAY
lyrics: Cara Samantha, music: Cara Samantha & Dominic Fallacaro - created 11/16/2011
V1
I gotta run, gotta go, I'm out the door
I'm late and my ride won't wait
First there's something I gotta say,
well I don't, but I do, I mean I owe it to you
And its long overdue
You don't have to say it too
What I think that I mean is
Look I know how I feel and
I want you to know
I llll-'ll see ya soon!
Oh no oh
V2
I'm in a rush, I can't stay, I just have to leave
Its time for me to go to that thing
First there's something I gotta say,
well I don't, but I do, I mean I owe it to you
And its long overdue
You don't have to say it too
What I think that I mean is
Look I know how I feel and
I want you to know
I llllll-
CHORUS
I never knew I could feel this for you
But I think that I do and I guess you should know it too
And maybe i'll say that it caught me off guard
When I fell for you hard
But I hardly can stand the wait...
So oh oh
VERSE 3
I've got no time, i cant talk, i just had to call
To tellllll you nothing at all.
But ...there's something I gotta say,
well I don't, but I do, I mean I owe it to you
And its long overdue
You don't have to say it too
What I think that I mean is
Look I know how I feel and
I want you to know
I-llllll-
CHORUS
I never knew I could feel this for you
But I think that I do and I guess you should know it too
And I oughtta say that it caught me off guard
When I fell for you ha-a-ard
BRIDGE
So why am I'm afraid
To be the first to say
That around you I'm me and fi-i-nally
I've found where I want to stay
Here I go again
Tongue like glue... again
Feelin blue and pink and rosy and bright
And things I've never felt before
Oooh
This is long overdue
But you don't have to say it too
What I think that I mean is
Look I know how I feel and
I want you to know that
I....love....you. (2x)
CHORUS
And I never knew I could feel this for you
But I know that I do and I'm glad that you know it too
And I gotta say that it caught me off guard
When I fell for you hard
I'll admit you were worth the wait
Cause everytime I leave your side i miss your bright blue eyes
And everytime I try to find the words
I gotta run gotta go I'm out the door
I'm late and my ride won't wait
But first there's something I gotta say
...I love you.
